PRACTICE,
MEET, & DISCIPLINARY POLICIES
DST PRACTICE POLICY
·
Practices
are the key components to success. Each swimmer is expected to attend a set
number of practices. This will be determined by their practice group and an
agreement between each individual swimmer and his/her coach.
·
Swimmers
are expected to arrive for practice 10 minutes before the start time and stay
for the entire workout. Every swimmer will complete all sets during practice.
Proper workout habits will be monitored at all times. Swimmers are encouraged
to ask informed questions during practice.
·
There
will be no parents allowed on the pool deck during practice. Seating is available
and the pool is visible from the lobby and/or balcony areas at each location.
·
Swimmers
are expected to respect their fellow swimmers and their property. Abuse of
other swimmer’s belongings or equipment belonging to the Delaware Swim Center
will immediately result in disciplinary action.
DST MEET POLICY
·
Unity
is a vital component of the team. Our team uniform will be worn at all meets
(suit, cap, T-shirt.) Each swimmer will receive a Team T-shirt and DST cap
before October 15th. Replacements are
the responsibility of the individual – the Delaware Pro Shop at the Delaware
Swim & Fitness Center carries these items at all times. Swimmers are expected to arrive at the
facility at least 15 minutes before the posted warm-up time. Team members will
sit together in one area for the entire meet. Remember that you are
representing Delaware Swim Team. Mature and respectful conduct is expected at
ALL times.
·
Each
swimmer will talk with his/her coach immediately before and after each swim.
Younger children will be assisted to the blocks. Swimmers are encouraged to
support one another verbally throughout the meet. Before leaving a meet,
swimmers should check with the coach about relays.
·
Parents are not allowed on deck. Any child wishing to visit parents MUST get permission
from their coaches. Visits should be brief and infrequent.
·
Team
members are expected to bring only nutritious food and drink to meets. Junk
food is out.
