Here’s what’s going on this week at the Delaware Swim Team…
- RESOLUTION CLASSIC:
o New Years Day, DST and DEA sponsored the 1st Annual Resolution Classic -5k /1 mile fun Run. Thank you to all that ran volunteered at this event! 168 runners participated in the Classic!

- PRACTICE CHANGES:
o Saturday 1/9:
§ NO Practice at University of Delaware
· Due to UD home swim meet
· As result of this closing the following practices will be offered at our Pike Creek site:
o Pups: 1:30-2:30pm @ Pike Creek
o Wonders: 1:30-3:00pm @ Pike Creek
o Super: 3:00-5:00pm @ Pike Creek (as scheduled)
o Mighty: 5:00-7:00pm @ Pike Creek
- UPCOMING MEETS:
o The following meets are in need of your attention:
o DST Pirate Plunge A/BB/C & Mini Meet:
§ January 16 & 17th: DST will be holding an A/BB/C and Mini Meet at the University of Delaware. Entries for this meet are closed.
· This Meet is CLOSED to entries. Please be on the lookout for changes to time and venue for the Saturday Sessions of the meet
o Middle Atlantic Elite Meet:
§ January 22nd- 24th: The Mid Atlantic Elite Meet will be held at the Gloucester County Institute of Technology. All qualified DST swimmers are expected to attend. Please speak to your primary coach with all entry questions.
· Team Meet information has been posted on the website and distributed to the sites. The online entry system is active and accepting entries. An eligibility report is posted on the web.
· With a meet this size, and the possibility of using a secondary site to accommodate competition, volunteers will be needed more than ever. Please try to help in whichever way possible at next weekends meet.
· Who: All qualified DST swimmers
· What: Middle Atlantic Elite Meet
· When: January 22nd -24th 2010
· Where: Gloucester County Institute of Technology
· ENTRIES ARE DUE TOMORROW, WEDNESDAY 1/6/2010.
o Texas Grand Prix:
§ March 4-6, 2010 DST will be attending the Texas Grand Prix in Austin, Texas. The team will invite qualified swimmers to participation. Attendance by invited swimmers is highly encouraged.
§ Swimmers with 4 or more qualifying times (in most cases) will be invited and encouraged to attend.
§ Team Meet information will be posted on the web soon and distributed to invited individuals next week. An Eligibility report will be posted on the web this week.
§ This is a TEAM TRAVEL MEET. Swimmers will travel, room, and eat together for this meet. Team Travel expectations and procedures will accompany meet information distributed to invited swimmers.
- NEWARK SENIOR CENTER:
o The management of the Newark Senior contacted our office in regards to a damaged door in the pool area of the facility. Please monitor your children when using this facility. The staff and administration of NSC have been very kind and supportive of our team; please honor that through respect for their facility.
