Here’s what’s going on this week at the Delaware Swim Team…
- DELAWARE STATE MEET:
o Congratulations to the swimmers and families of the DST for capturing both the Team High Point and Team Heat Winner Championships at the 2009 Delaware State Meet. Thanks to all our parents and family members who volunteered their time officiating, timing, working admissions, providing hospitality, or offering to help in any way they could, who made this meet a huge success. Here are some details and highlights from the meet:
§ State Meet T-Shirts:
· The Meet T-shirt which was sold at the admission desk can still be purchased.
o Cost: $5.00
o Sizes available: Child Small; Adult Med & Lrg
o Shirts will be available for purchase at our Pike Creek site or you may contact the office if you would like to purchase one.

· State Meet Awards have been distributed to the sites; look in for them in your folder soon.
§ Great Job:
· Great job to all our swimmers who competed over the weekend. The Staff was more than pleased with the results, and very happy to see an excited group of kids.
- PRACTICE CHANGES:
o Morning Practice:
§ There are regular Senior morning practices this week.
· Wednesday @ Pike Creek- 5:30-7:00am
· Friday @ New Castle- 5:30-7:00 am
o Wednesday 12/9:
§ Senior Green swimmers will practice at NEW CASTLE
· DSFC NC @ 3:30-5:30pm
o Thursday 12/10:
§ Senior Green and New Castle Super swimmers should practice NEW CASTLE
· DSFC NC @ 3:30-5:30pm
- TEAM PICTURE:
o Families who wish to purchase a team picture can contact the office for more information.
- - TEAM FUNDRAISER:
o Delaware Swim Team has decided to organize a cheesecake sale as a fundraiser to help defray the costs associated with meet entries. Here are the details:
§ J.P. DiNorscia of Achieve Solutions is our representative for this fundraiser.
§ Mr. DiNorscia has distributed a letter and packet explaining the specifics of this program.
§ The Deadline for order is Wednesday December 3rd. No order will be accepted after this time.
- JERSEY WAHOOS INVITATIONAL:
o Delaware Swim Team has been invited to attend a closed invitational hosted by the Jersey Wahoos. The Wahoos have created this meet to provide swimmers who have yet to achieve TYR CUP qualification standards an opportunity to compete in a Holiday meet.
§ Who: All 9 & over swimmer who have not qualified for TYR Cup.
§ What: Wahoo Invitational IMX BB/C Meet
§ Where: Jersey Wahoos Swim Club, Mount Laurel NJ
§ When: Saturday December 12th and Sunday December 13th
§ Team Meet information had been distributed to the sites.
§ Full Meet information has been posted on the web.
§ Online Meet System is now CLOSED; entry deadline is now past. Anyone wishing to enter this meet must contact the office by Wednesday morning, 12/2.
- TYR CUP HOTEL
o The Marriott of Lancaster – Penn Square still has rooms available. At this time DST has less than 50% of its team block booked. If you plan to stay in the team hotel during the TYR Cup please make your reservation as soon as possible.

- TYR CUP MEET UPDATE:
o Following the Delaware State Meet, DST updated our times, and in some cases entries, for the upcoming TYR Cup Championship in Lancaster PA. We are awaiting approval from the meet director for these updates. Once we have confirmation that our revised entry was accepted we will inform those affected.
- CONGRATULATIONS:
o Congrats to two members of our class of 2010, Megan Northshield and Katie Rechsteiner. Both ladies have signed letters of intent for their respective college of choice.
§ Megan will attend the Naval Academy in the fall
§ Katie will attend the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
