Here’s what going on at the Delaware Swim Team this week….
- SCHEDULE CHANGES:
o Our revised schedule begins on Monday November 16th.
§ The revised schedule is posted on the web.
- PRE- STATE MEET CLINIC & PEP RALLY:
o On Sunday November 22nd DST will be holding its annual Pre-State Meet Clinic and Pep Rally. We will be taking our team picture at this event, so please mark your calendar, we are hoping for a great turnout. The Staff will be running a starts, turns, and relay clinic after the picture. Fun and games to follow the clinic.
§ Who: All DST swimmers and families
§ Where: University of Delaware CIP
§ When: 11/22 from 12:00-2:00pm.
- DELAWARE STATE MEET:
o Entries for the Delaware State Meet are now PAST DUE.
§ The online entry system has been closed, and will not accept entries for this meet.
§ Swimmers who have yet to enter the meet, but would like to attend should email clarkb@freestyles.org ASAP.
- RMSC AGE GROUP CHALLENGE:
o Congratulations to the swimmers who represented DST at last weekend’s National Age Group Championship in Boyd’s Maryland. From age 9 to 14, each member of the team represented the club well with great effort and enthusiasm. A great time was had by all the coaches and swimmers.
§ DST finished 4th overall
§ Congrats to Cierra Runge who took home the overall High Point Award.

- TYR CUP:
o With the RMSC Meet completed, we will be attempting to update the times of our current meet entries.
§ If anyone has a question about their entry in this meet please contact the office ASAP.
o Please sure to make your reservations at the team hotel.

§ Changes for PS DuPont due to the start of the High School season
· Supers: 5:30-7:30pm
· Mighty: 5:30-7:00pm
· Wonder: 5:30-6:45pm
· Pups: 5:30-6:30pm
o The week of 11/9 through 11/13:
§ NO Senior Level morning practices

- VOTE FOR ANDREW:

- DELAWARE ELITE ATHLETES ( DEA )
o DST would like to thank trainer Dave Freeth, and his staff at DEA, for all they have done this season for the club. Dave and the staff have done an amazing job designing dry land programs for our National, Senior, and Super programs. Delaware Elite Athletics has been challenging the swimmers of DST swimmers physically to better develop their overall strength, but most of all help with scapular/shoulder stability and core development. This is to help prevent injury and ultimately enhance performance
o Elite Athletes is located in our Pike Creek facility, and offers a variety of programs for young athletes.
§ Speed/Agility Training, Plyometric Training, Sports Specific Training, Core Strength Physio Ball Program, Functional Strength Training, Itty Bitty, Boys/Girls Lacrosse Lessons, Baseball/Softball Lessons, Volleyball Lessons, Basketball Lessons
§ Additional Services Include:

- RESOLUTION CLASSIC:
o New Years Day, DST and DEA will be sponsoring the 1st Annual Resolution Classic -5k /1 mile fun Run.
§ What: A 5k or 1 mile run with the proceeds benefitting the American Lung Association.
§ When: 12:00 Noon, New Years Day
· (Registration begins at 10:30 AM)
§ Where: Delaware Swim & Fitness Center Pike Creek

§ Entry Fees:
· Pre-race $16.00 (Deadline Dec 21st)
· Race day $20.00

- HIGH SCHOOL PREP:
o Good Luck to our members of the High School Prep program as their season with DST comes to an end and their high school season begins. Any swimmers who would like to continue training with DST should talk to their primary coach about the right program for them.
- YOGA CLASS:
o Coach Jocelyn has arranged for a yoga class to be offered to our swimmers, all are welcome.
§ Date: This Friday 11/16
§ Time: 8:00-8:30 pm
§ Place: DSFC Pike Creek
§ Cost: $ 3.00 per person
- THANKSGIVING FOOD DRIVE:
o
DST will be collecting food for the food bank on Monday, November
16th and the last day will be Sunday, November 22nd.
§ Each site will participate and try to collect as much as they can.
§ All swimmers and coaches are encouraged to contribute something, either a can, a box, or $5.00.
§ Each site will need a volunteer to help drive the efforts and organize at their facilities donation.
§ If you would to help in this effort please contact Coach Jocelyn by this Friday 11/13.
- SPORTSWEAR ORDERS:
o DST Sportswear order forms will be in family folders over the next few days. Please check the website for more details. Pictures of our sportswear options will be posted soon.
§ Orders are due to the office Monday November 16th.
