Here’s what’s going on at the Delaware Swim Team this week….
- TEAM PICNIC:
o Thanks to all those who made it out to our annual Team Picnic this past Sunday, we had a great turnout and a beautiful day!
§ Please send any pictures you may have taken to Kathy Drysdale
- BOOSTER MEETING:
o This Wednesday night, DST will hold its first Booster meeting of the new season, all are invited. The Boosters will be looking for new members to join the organization. Raphael Pagan will be leading the effort tomorrow night, as new officers will be elected at the clubs first meeting. Please contact Kathy Drysdale or Sean Dougherty with any questions about the role, open positions, or responsibilities of the DST Boosters Group.,

- USA SCHOLASTIC ALL AMERICAN:

- OFFICIALS CLINIC:
o We’re looking for new officials for the 2009-10 seasons! If you are interested in becoming a USS certified stroke and turn judge, starter, or meet referee please check the website for more details. DST has taken on more hosted meets this season than ever before, and officials are a vital component to these meets running efficiently, we need your help!
§ The $57.00 USS registration fee will be reimbursed to all DST registered officials who work 3 team hosted meets.
§ This Saturday at 10:00am at DSFC New Castle there will be a certification clinic for those interested in becoming an official.
§ Dates and times for MA sponsored clinics can be found at our website:
- SENIOR PROGRAM MORNING PRACTICES:
o Morning practices for the Senior Programs began last week. Below is the schedule for the rest of the month. Please check with your primary coach to determine if these practices are recommended for your personal needs.
§ This week: Monday and Friday only
· @ DSFC New Castle 5:30-7:00am
§ Next week (10/12-10/18):
· NO practices held at any site
§ Week of 10/19-10/25: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
· Monday and Friday @ DSFC New Castle 5:30-7:00am
· Wednesday @ DSFC Pike Creek 5:30-7:00am
§ Week of 10/26 -11/1: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
· Monday and Friday @ DSFC New Castle 5:30-7:00am

- BANANA BOAT AND PUMPKIN PATCH MEETS:
o Due to unforeseen facility limitations at the University of Delaware, changes to the Saturday sessions of these meets will be necessary. The staff is awaiting approval from Mid Atlantic Swimming to announce these changes. As soon as meet format changes have been approved, we will post and email the team with the new schedule. Session start times, warm-up times, and the order of events of Saturday are all subject to changes as a result of the limitations at the University. We apologize for any inconveniences, and will do our best to keep all teams and swimmers involved in this meet fully aware of all changes that must take place.
- RMSC AGE GROUP CHALLENGE:
o AG Challenge applications are now available on our website;
§ In order to be considered in the team selection process swimmers must be between the ages of 9 to 14, and submit an application.
§ The deadline for applications is Friday October 16th.
§ Banana Boat Meet results WILL be used in our selection process
§ DST will announce the swimmers selected to represent the club by Wednesday October 21st.

- NOVEMBER GPAC MEET:
o After further review, the staff has decided NOT to attend the GPAC November A/BB/C meet. Please ask your coach if you have any questions pertaining to attendance of this meet.
- PRACTICE CHANGES:
o Below are the practice changes for this week:
§ Friday October 9th:
· NO PRACTICE @ PS Dupont
o Due Brandywine School District blackout.
§ Please refer to the team practice schedule for available practices at other locations.
§ Saturday October 10th:
· NO Practice at Carpenter Indoor Pool
o Due UD home swim meet
o DST will offer a practice at Pike Creek
§ Mightys & Wonders 5:00-6:30pm
§ Pups 5:00-6:00pm
- - GOOD LUCK COACH JOCELYN:
o Coach Jocelyn is now in Kona, Hawaii for the Iron Man World Championships. Good Luck Jocelyn in the competition! DST is very proud of this amazing accomplishment, and will be thinking of you this week.
