We (DST) must be able to provide enough officials & trained workers to adequately staff and run our meets. We are currently looking for volunteers to be trained on the Colorado (timing system), the computer, and to fill the position of Meet Director. Middle Atlantic will hold stroke & turn clinics in the fall to train those wanting to become officials. We can train Colorado & Computer operators at our October meet. Meet Director

This position is required by USA Swimming for every meet.  The main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Attend Middle Atlantic workshop for Meet Directors (about 2 hours)
• Must be a registered member of USA Swimming
• In conjunction with team administration, is responsible for obtaining annual meet sanctions and preparation of meet information.
• Be present at all meet sessions, as mandated by the Meet Referee, (and working in conjunction with the Meet Referee at the meet)
• Address entry questions by non-DST participants, both in advance of the meet, and during active meet sessions.
• Approve meet program prior to printing.
• Distribution of final meet results (Middle Atlantic & DST webs) and upon request, to participating teams.
• Responsible for preparation of meet reports, due to Middle Atlantic at the conclusion of the meet.

The director is an overseer, avoiding direct involvement in any one committee or activity.  Having multiple Meet Directors, sharing the overall responsibilities is preferred.
