What Has The DST Booster Organization Done For You?

2005-2006 Season

  1.   Ran 7 team-sponsored  meets (A/BB/C, Mini and Regionals) netting

        approximately $1,000 per meet

• Supplied snack bar

• Supplied awards (trophies, medals and ribbons)

• Supplied and coordinated all volunteer workers and officials

  2.   Paid all relay fees for the season, previously billed to the participating swimmers.

  3.   Funded performance-based scholarships  

  4.   Driving force behind improved on-line entry system including on-line payment.

  5.   Improved communication

• Started team newsletter, DAWGTALES, and supplied prize for coming up with the name.

• Maintained email address, boosters@freestyles.org

• Maintained team website, www.delawareswimteam.com

• Motivation for season team video (shown at banquet, now on website)

  6.  Assisted with fall season swimmer registration, providing snacks and

       key chains.

  7.  Improved social atmosphere and team spirit

• Coordinated and funded fall team picnic with introduction of additional activities

• Coordinated and funded pep rally and pizza party before the Delaware State Championships

• Supplied T-Shirts for the Delaware State Championships

• Coordinated Swimmer's meals and parent social night at Tom Dolan Meet (PV)

• Coordinated and funded ice cream social in February

• Coordinated and funded spring team banquet at reduced admission cost.

• Supplied end of year gift (towel) to all swimmers at the banquet.

• Coordinated team hotel blocks for away meets

  8.  Began work on fundraising strategies to be implemented in 2006-2007

  9.  Created system to promote volunteerism and track service hours, to be piloted

        in 2006-2007
